South African 'Self-Acclaimed' Fashion Police gives a "YAY" or "NAY"

Ride the Wave was this year's theme at the Durban July. If you are familiar with the Durban July and look forward to all the couture, you will know that it is the "Met Gala" of South Africa, and is the highlight on most celebrities' social calendars.

Ride the Wave, was open for interpretation, but some people were "literally" riding the wave…and drowned!

In this feature, we look at five men's outfits and rate them accordingly.

1.     Dladla Mshunqisi

"YAY" for execution. The idea is there. We get the wave – the splash of water. Thank you for the curtain call.

2. Nikko

"NAY" for this look. The theme got lost under the waves. This would be a cute pyjama ensemble to lounge in with the girls – "sleepover vibes".

3. Kagiso Mogola

"NAY!" This look is giving qualifying for the Olympics Gymnastic team. The winner takes it all. It could've been better. The theme got lost.

4. Kwenzo Ngcobo

"YAY!" This outfit only gets approved because of the message behind it. To raise awareness around #ForeverWena to help drive HIV awareness. Very educational. We love a teachable moment.

5. Makhekhe

"NAY" for this ensemble. It is totally off-theme. It would've looked great as a Vogue cover shoot. Did he even get the brief? I doubt.
